With Spring just around the corner, we are gearing up for our 2022 Salmon and Trout season. If you’ve never been charter fishing, this year would be a great year to try it! With our newest, largest and fastest boat, you are guaranteed a good time.
A few frequently asked questions we get:
How many people can we accommodate on a fishing charter?: 6 people per party is the maximum on any charter boat
How often do we run trips?: 2 trips daily on both boats; we have a morning start and a midday start
Where do we leave from?: Our fishing charters are based in Racine until Mid-June, then we move to Milwaukee for the remainder of the season
What are our rates?: Fishing charter rates vary depending on the length of your trip. See our rates & packages page for more details.
Do I need to have a fishing license?: If you are 16 or older, you must have a fishing license for our fishing charters. You will also need to purchase your Wisconsin Fishing license and Great Lakes Trout / Salmon Stamp before you get to the boat. Along with this, you will need to bring a paper copy of your license with you, per Wisconsin DNR laws for outlying waters of Lake Michigan.
What if this is my first time fishing?: Not a problem! Our experienced fishing captains look forward to giving you some fishing tips, demonstrations, and explanations.
Is it child friendly?: We have no age limitations on our boats. We do suggest over the age of 5, but encourage parents to take their children when they feel they are ready. Everyone loves fishing on Lake Michigan!
What if it is raining?: Rain is not a problem! We have a hardtop, as well as a cabin for you to get out of the rain. Our client’s safety is our number one priority. If we feel the weather is going to cause unsafe conditions, your Captain will cancel the Lake Michigan fishing trip and we can reschedule for another time.
Do I clean my own fish?: No, we will have either our Captain’s or mates clean, prepare and bag your catch to your specifications. However, you will want to bring a cooler to store your fish in for transport back home. Then check out our recipes to make a yummy fish dinner you caught yourself!
How should I store my fish?: You will want to ensure that your fish are kept cold (on ice) while you are transporting them home from your fishing charter. We do suggest packaging your catch individually before freezing using a vacuum sealer. In the correct conditions, fillets can be stored for up to a year.
